What Would Valis Look Like in Real Life?

I’ve had a terrible time trying to find a good picture of what Valis would look like if he existed in real life. This is as close as I could come. Though, I’m not sure what he would think about having short hair. It suits him, though. Don’t you think? Also not so sure about that tattoo. Valis would probably be against that, but who knows. He may not be a skin purist. God knows I’m not. I have four tattoos, myself, and am possibly going to be getting more in the future. What do you think? Close? Yeah? or … Continue reading “What Would Valis Look Like in Real Life?”

Castrate… Castrian… No, Xastrate. *Sigh* Xastrian!

The Elf of Many Names. I accidentally used his nickname in a writing community I belong to, and thought it might be pertinent to offer a brief explanation. Because, mainly, I don’t want people thinking I actually named a character “Castrate”, funny as that may well be. Basically, if I start typing something, anything, even a typo, my fingers are going so fast that I usually finish the word before I realize what I actually typed. Yes, I read what I type as I type it. However, these mistakes have led to many LOLs. Typos Galore Anyway. I started trying … Continue reading “Castrate… Castrian… No, Xastrate. *Sigh* Xastrian!”

Punks: The Post-Surgery Transition

Warning: Hilarity ahead. Also, I have a potty mouth, so there be F-bombs. My cat, Punks, had surgery on September 12, 2018. The procedure went better than expected. Where they thought it would take a long time—and thus be extremely expensive, because they thought the tumor on her back had grown roots—it turns out, it popped out like a giant zit with little effort, and I ended up paying roughly half the initial estimate. Punks is doing extremely well. She spent the night at the animal hospital because I was such a nervous wreck leading up to her surgery date … Continue reading “Punks: The Post-Surgery Transition”

The God Jars Series and Religion

Building this series has been a daydream come true. From the characters who won’t leave me alone to the little details that only I will never know, this series will probably stay with me for as long as I live. But, one of my favorite things about this series, is the religion I built for it. And, I don’t mean “built” as in “I had this shit all planned out from the beginning.” Oh, no. I mean “built” as in, “The story kept throwing bricks at my head in the shape of gods, and I happily complied and turned it … Continue reading “The God Jars Series and Religion”

The Book That Refuses to Be Written

The best thing about writing? I get to create worlds and people and generally play god. The worst thing? I have to have these people and places make sense. Sometimes, this is the easiest thing in the world. I know how to be a real, living human being. I should know how to write them, right? Right. And for the most part, I do. It’s second nature. Writing believable characters and making them jump off the page is fun and sort of like a brain sport. But sometimes books will fight me for every word. Right now, that book is … Continue reading “The Book That Refuses to Be Written”

New Release and Schedules

Out Now!     Trust is more terrifying than any weapon. Valis’ father wants to sacrifice him to the evil God, Qos. His uncle wants to use him as a magical battery and sex slave. All Valis wants is to live in peace, without fear of constant abuse. When he escapes his father’s sacrificial knife and runs away, he lands in the camp of his two saviors, Kerac and Darolen, holy Aesriphos warriors powerful enough to put his family in their place. But trusting anyone could be fatal, and the warriors ask the impossible: to sell his father’s farmstead and … Continue reading “New Release and Schedules”

When Books Explode

God Jars is coming along nicely, and I’ve had some success getting things ready for other projects. But, sometimes my brain has a major oops moment. This one is making me think my brain can’t make up its mind on practically anything. You see, God Jars started life as a trilogy. After finishing the first “book” and part of the second, I realized (thanks to the help of an awesome editor) that I squashed three books into a single manuscript. Thankfully, I took care of this issue. I have God Jars books 1-4 finished, edited, and mostly ready to go. … Continue reading “When Books Explode”

New Series Woes

So, I have several series going at once. I have 4 books written in one, and editing those before I start on book 5. It’s a nine book series. I like having my ducks in a row, okay? And, I seriously love this series. It’s a fantasy romance with pretty, pretty boys who I absolutely adore. The entire series is a slow burn on the romance up until book 4. The love interest doesn’t even get introduced until book 2, if that gives you any indication. And I’m completely in love. And here’s the woe… But I want to also … Continue reading “New Series Woes”

Getting Started!

Just tossing this up here to get things started! This is the first and probably last time you will hear this, but I have another pen name where I write Fantasy Romance. I may mention it again if it ever becomes relevant, but I’m not seeing that as likely. And since the Gay Romance I plan to write under this pen name is so vastly different from the fantasy, I’m starting anew with a new identity! I have one series to finish up, and I hope to get it completed by the end of this year (2017) so that I can … Continue reading “Getting Started!”
